The McNary boys and girls track teams both fared well at the Central Valley Conference championships, held last week at Willamette University. There will be four Celtics competing in five sports at this weekend’s OSAA Track and Field State Championships in Eugene.
McNary boys and girls finish in top half of Garden City Invitational
On Friday, McNary track and field was at the Garden City Invitational at Silverton High School, with both the boys and girls finishing in fourth place.
McNary splits meet at North Salem
McNary track and field was at North Salem for a dual meet on Wednesday, and thanks to a narrow four-point win from the girls, the Celtics came away with a split.
Olivo finishes 3rd in 400m at Need for Speed Invitational
Members of McNary track and field, along with 29 other schools across the state, were in action at the Sherwood Need for Speed Invitational on Saturday at Sherwood High School.
Kiana Olivo’s third place finish in the 400 meters girls was the highest finish for the Celtics on the day. Olivo’s time of 1 minute, 2.97 seconds was a personal record for the junior.
McNary T&F hosts Saxons, set 129 PRs in Wednesday meet
The Celtics set 129 personal records in the 201 results they posted as a team, as well as 11 season records, and came away with 34 first place finishes against the Saxons.
St. John’s 3rd place finish highest for Celtics at Friday’s Titan Classic
McNary joined 12 other schools on Friday at West Salem for the Titan Track Classic.
For the Celtics, Asia St. John’s third place finish in the girls varsity shot put was their highest finish.
