Olivo finishes 3rd in 400m at Need for Speed Invitational

Members of McNary track and field, along with 29 other schools across the state, were in action at the Sherwood Need for Speed Invitational on Saturday at Sherwood High School.

Kiana Olivo’s third place finish in the 400 meters girls was the highest finish for the Celtics on the day. Olivo’s time of 1 minute, 2.97 seconds was a personal record for the junior.

Olivo also placed 12th in the 200 meters, 21st in the long jump, and was part of the McNary 4×100 relay team that placed 12th.

Asia St. John placed seventh in the girls shot put with a throw of 32-feet, 8-inches, a personal record for the sophomore. 

The Celtics had three other top-10 finishes. Kali Ellis placed 10th in the girls 800 meters, Jacob Hurst finished 10th in the boys shot put, and the boys 4×100 relay team of Pawit Potisuk, Pawat Potisuk, Benjamin Sheets and David Gosa came in 10th.

McNary athletes set 24 personal records on the day.
