The Central Valley all-conference teams for both boys and girls soccer were released on Tuesday, and the list is filled with Celtics. At the top of that list is junior midfielder Jonathan Ruiz who was named player of the year.
All-conference honors and awards are voted on by the opposing coaches of the conference, and a total of 22 McNary players earned all-conference honors. Both Celtic head coaches earned honors as well. Boys head coach Miguel Camarena was named coach of the year, while first-year girls head coach Josh Rios Noonkester shared the honor with Sprague’s Francisco Martinez Cruz.
Joining Rios on the first-team all-conference boys team are senior defender Leonardo Alvarez, junior midfielder Allan Vasquez, senior forward Misael Rios and senior goalkeeper Biaggio Camarena.
Three McNary boys were named to the second-team, senior midfielder Romeo Ayala, sophomore midfielder Derick Cuelo and senior defender Tony Bravo. Earning honorable mentions were sophomore midfielder Israel Corta, senior goalkeeper Alex Stephen, sophomore forward Fernando Zepeda and sophomore defender Emilio Arvizo.
The Lady Celts had two on the first-team and two on the second-team. Senior forward Maya Alston and junior defender Kaelynn King earned first-team honors while senior midfielders Bethany Villegas and Mya Olson were named to the second-team.
Sophomore defender Avery Caston, freshman defender Ireland Hedberg, senior midfielder Clarisa Lemus and freshman midfielder Nessa Olson were honorable mentions.
