New City Attorney, new year, new disagreements
The Keizer City Council met on Jan. 2 to discuss topics leftover from the previous year and approve the onboarding of a new City Attorney, though disagreement appeared as another main topic of the night.
Keizer’s Strategic Plan survey returns
In January 2023, the City of Keizer began its journey to create its 5-year plan for the future. Now, its survey is available again to gather more data for that plan.
Coffee with a Cop
The Keizer Police Department hosted the Coffee with a Cop event on Dec. 19 at Starbucks located on 4943 River Rd N.
Public hearing on Jan. 2
The Keizer City Council will hold a public hearing to present findings for the exemption of Cisco brand and CompuNet Inc. brand products from the competitive public bidding system.

Council divided over service fees
With a full bench, the Keizer City Council met on Dec. 4 to vote on several resolutions for the Keizer Holiday Parade and Keizer Rapids turf fields though, one subject appeared to create tension and divide them: how to add new service fees.
