SKPS Board member for Zone 1, Osvaldo Avila, has effectively tendered his resignation from the board on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
At approximately 2:17 p.m. on Tuesday, Keizer Police responded to a 911 call at the Keizer Station Apartments in the 5400 block of McLeod Lane NE.
As a result, a 21-year-old male was charged with misdemeanor domestic menacing after he threatened his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend with a firearm.
Every year there are over 3,700 vehicle crashes in the Salem-Keizer area, with thousands of injuries—some minor, others life changing—including 15 to 20 fatalities per year. Despite efforts at the state and local level to build a safer transportation system and encourage safer driving, the number of crashes and fatalities has increased over the last 10 years.
Community members from Keizer and the surrounding areas came together last week to help families in need this holiday season.
A man on an electric stand up scooter entered the roadway at River Road N and Wheatland Road N at around 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 3, and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound. Keizer Police responded to the scene, and driver of the scooter was taken to Salem Hospital.[Read More…]
