A man on an electric stand up scooter entered the roadway at River Road N and Wheatland Road N at around 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 3, and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound.
Keizer Police responded to the scene, and driver of the scooter was taken to Salem Hospital. Keizer Police Lt. Trevor Wenning said the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the police. He said based on the evidence they have so far, it appeared the driver of the scooter was at fault, but the investigation is on-going and updates may not be available for the next few days.
Wenning said investigators checked in on the scooter driver Sept. 6, and he is currently listed in stable, but very critical condition.
