Mavericks League teams eye end of season
The four teams of the Mavericks Independent Baseball League are looking at the final seven days of play before playoffs on Thursday, Aug. 29. The championship series will be played on Aug. 30 and 31. If needed, championship play will continue into Sept. 1.

Cherriots hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, Aug. 14, to commemorate the fleet of 10 electric buses the company will now use for a specific route.
Keizer Riverwalk Art Fair a success by any measure
The Keizer Art Association held its first Riverwalk Art Fair last weekend, Aug. 9-11.
The fair was held at Keizer Rapids Park along with KeizerFEST. It featured works by 31 artists from across Oregon.
