Census-takers needed

The US Census Bureau is recruiting thousands of people for temporary jobs across the country, including citizens in Marion County, for both supervisory and clerical positions working to build the 2020 Census.

The temporary positions will begin this summer and run through August. Pay ranges from $14 to $17.50 per hour, and work done for the 2020 Census will help determine each state’s representation in Congress, as well as how money is spent for schools, hospitals, roads and more.

Basic qualifications include being at least 18 years old, having a valid Social Security number, being a US citizen and having a valid email.

The Internship Program provides paid work experience to students who are in high school or college. Internships can be seasonal (summer, fall and spring) or year round.

To apply, or for more information about the jobs available, call 855-562-2020 or visit 2020census.gov/jobs.
