New Keizer Village restaurant coming later this month

Bubba’s Pub and Lotto

The Keizer City Council approved the liquor license of a new bar/restaurant called Bubba’s Pub and Lotto at a meeting at city hall on Monday, Aug. 2.

The pub will be located in Keizer Village (3860 River Road N Suite 3860-A), which was formally Gyro Stop, which closed in early-June.

Bubba’s Pub and Lotto owner Jackson Martino said that he hopes to open up the new venue by Tuesday, Aug. 10 and has plans to expand the business in the future.

“We want to open more locations in the area around Salem-Keizer. Not anytime soon, maybe in a year from now. But for now, we’re just trying to get this place up and be a good neighborhood bar,” Martino said.

In other news, the council elected to revisit the issue of the Keizer Station Area C reimbursement district and schedule a future public hearing on the annual adjust fee or interest, which right now is at 3% for subsequent developers.

During the public comment portion of the meeting, Keizer resident and local musician Omar Alvarado informed the council of his plans to organize a community music and art fair, which will take place at Volcanoes Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 5 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The event is called Fire Out West.

The council’s next meeting will take place on Monday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. at city hall. During the meeting, there will be a public hearing on the intention to assess street lighting improvements in the Aubrey Glenn Street Lighting District.
