Ruberto named Army National Guard Most Valuable Teammate

The season may have finished more than a month ago, but the Celtics are finding reason to celebrate.

Senior linebacker and running back Hunter Ruberto was named the Oregon Army National Guard Most Valuable Teammate.

According to the OSAA website, the Oregon National Guard and OSAA look for players who exemplify what being a teammate is by leading by example, willing to play any role, working hard, displaying a positive and energetic attitude, and supporting others.

β€œI like to build a connection with each player and coach in our program,” Ruberto said in his entry. β€œIt is important that everyone is involved and committed to our program. Building a strong family will help lead to a fun and rewarding season.”

MVT candidates from each sport were nominated by their varsity coaches. One candidate from each sport was chosen and recognized as the MVT for their sport.

MVTs have an opportunity to apply for one of three $1,000 scholarships, one per season.
