Early in the morning on Sept. 20, Keizer Police responded to the report of a stabbing in the 3000 block of Cherry Avenue N.
Investigators report that a male and female got into an argument, which led to another female attempting to intervene in order to protect the first female. The male then allegedly stabbed the second female.
Keizer Police Lt. Trevor Wenning said the suspect in the stabbing is a 32 year-old Keizer resident who was arraigned Sept. 21.
No further information regarding the age or identities of the people involved is being made available until after the suspect has been turned over to county officials.
Wenning said the charges will include assault in the first degree, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, strangulation and coercion. He said the suspect had an existing warrant out for his arrest for sexual abuse in the first degree.
Investigators report they located and apprehended the suspect on Sept. 20, in the process uncovering several items of value as evidence, as well as the victim of the domestic violence incident.
The female stabbing victim was taken to Salem Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery. Wenning said she is expected to recover.
