The Salem Theatre Network (STN) will present Music Theatre International’s All Together Now! A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre with performances Nov. 12 through Nov. 14 at Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre.
The show is a revue of songs from well-known musicals such as Rent, Les Miserables, Into the Woods and others. The performances in Salem will join thousands of other theatre organizations around the world producing their own local shows. Music Theatre International created the show as a fundraiser for theaters around the globe.
“MTI’s All Together Now! is about bringing people back to the theatre, whether as audience members or cast, crew and musicians,” said Drew Cohen, CEO of Music Theatre International said. “The revue features songs from the world’s most iconic musicals, so there definitely is something for everyone to enjoy.”
Cohen added, “Our goal with this worldwide event is for organizations to provide hope, inspiration and excitement to their communities through the power of musical theatre.”
The cast of Salem’s All Together Now! is a comprised of seasoned performers from the region including McNary High School and Keizer Homegrown Theatre actors Allison Reid, Stacie Purdie Rice and Mandy Thompson.
Kent Wilson, director of band, choir and theater arts at Salem Academy Christian Schools, will helm All Together Now!. He will be joined by choreographer Geri Lynn Greeno.
The well-known songs in the revue are a tour of the greatest musicals from composers that include Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, Stephen Sondheim, Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe and more.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12 and Nov. 13 and a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Nov. 14. Tickets for all performances are $22.50 and are available on line at enlightenedtheatrics.vbotickets.com.
