The Oregon House on Thursday passed a proposal to reshape the state’s response to the fentanyl addiction and overdose crisis and put more power in the hands of police and prosecutors to rein in drug users.

While an official date has not yet been set, Keizerites can be excited for an upcoming mural featuring the Oregon Trail at the Keizer Heritage Museum.

From March 1 to the 31, interested Keizerites can sign up for a springtime scavenger hunt.
A fun, family-friendly and self-guided scavenger hunt meant to celebrate World Water Day (March 22), the event will take place over a wide area that encompasses Keizer Rapids Park, Bush’s Pasture Park and Ankeny Hill Nature Center.

The night began with a standing ovation and special recognition for former City Attorney Shannon Johnson for his 39 years of service to the city of Keizer at the Feb. 20 city council meeting.

In a partnership everyone wants to see more of, the Keizer Fire District and the Autism Society of Oregon came together to help those affected by traumatic circumstances with a series of sensory gift bags gifted on Feb. 14.

As a child Kylee Blake loved being able to walk out the backdoor of her house and have acres of land to enjoy and play on. That led her and husband, John Pedersen, to purchase the property that housed Egan’s Nursery from Ellen Egan in 2023.

After a two week break, City Council and staff met again, Feb. 26, to continue discussion of the city’s long range budget planning and layout the city’s near future.
