As per House Bill 4157, the Oregon Department of Revenue will begin sending out one-time assistance payments to Oregon households beginning the week of June 20-24.
According to a media release by the ODR, qualifying households must have received the earned-income tax credit from their 2020 filing and must have lived in the state for the past six months.
When possible, payments will be deposited directly into Oregonian's bank accounts, however the department expects to send nearly 100,000 paper checks, as well. Households receiving the payment through direct deposit will also be notified via mail when it posts.
A total of $1.41 million is expected to be distributed to 236,000 Oregon households.
