
Celtics avenge early season loss to Saxons with 72-57 win

McNary and Sprague met for the final dual meet of the season with the Central Valley Conference championship on the line. And in a highly competitive night, the Olympians took the final five matches of the night to win the CVC title.

The Salem Capitals returned for their second season, holding the Blue and White scrimmage of Saturday, Jan. 28. In what was essentially the final day of training camp, an intrasquad scrimmage was held in front of fans at the Salem Armory Auditorium.

The seniors from McNary and West Salem were honored in their final league meet of the season on Thursday. The Titans came away with wins from both the boys and girls teams.

McNary wrestling was on the road Wednesday at West Salem with a chance to stay undefeated in the Central Valley Conference and set up a meeting next week with Sprague for the league title.

The Celtics came away with a 21-point win over the Olympians Monday night in a CVC matchup.

Ali Martinez brought home another tournament win as the McNary Lady Celtics had a top-10 finish at the Lady Dragon Invitational on Saturday at Dallas High School.
McNary finished eighth in the 51-school tournament, the largest girls tournament in the state.

McNary and West Salem met in a CVC matchup Thursday night, with the Titans coming away with the win on the road, thanks in part to a 23-point fourth quarter.

The McNary Celtics and Sprague Olympians split the results of their dual-meet on Thursday at the Kroc Center.
The McNary girls won 79-61, while the boys narrowly lost 75-73.
