McNary wrestling was on the road Wednesday at West Salem with a chance to stay undefeated in the Central Valley Conference and set up a meeting next week with Sprague for the league title.
The Celtics did what they needed to do, defeating the Titans 45-27, moving to 3-0 in league meets.
In the win, McNary had five pinfalls, three decisions and one forfeit win, winning eight straight matches at one point.
Both the boys and girls will be in action on Saturday. The girls will take part in the Hood River Womens Invitational at Hood River High School while the boys are at West Albany for the Tod Surmon Mid-Valley Classic.
Then, on Thursday, Feb. 2, they’ll host Sprague in a meet to decide the CVC champion.
In CVC meets, Sprague has outscored its opponents 165-66, while McNary has a 153-81 edge.
