SKPS Board OKs $1.8M land purchase

The Salem-Keizer Career Technical Education Center will have a new program after the Salem-Keizer School Board unanimously approved plans to purchase an airport hangar at McNary Field at Tuesday’s school board meeting.

Tumultuous couple weeks for SKPS board

On Friday, the SKPS board announced that meetings will no longer be open to the public in-person.
This comes weeks after initial petitions to recall three board members were filed with Marion County.

SKPS board bans concealed carry

In a 4-3 decision on Tuesday, Aug. 9, the Salem-Keizer School Board voted to ban the concealed carry of firearms on campuses. 

With the approval of the resolution, it now goes to Superintendent Christy Perry to form and enforce a policy keeping those with concealed handgun licenses (CHL) from bringing firearms on campus.
