Signup deadline May 6 for KeizerFEST’s Bloomin’ Iris Parade

You can’t have a parade without entries and the deadline is looming to be part of the Bloomin’ Iris KeizerFEST Parade.

The parade is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, and the Keizer Chamber of Commerce is taking applications to participate up to Wednesday, May 6.

The annual event, with Bloomin’ Iris as the theme, travels River Road from Lockhaven Drive to North Glynbrook Street.

Categories include decorated floats, decorated commercial vehicles, marching groups, mounted groups, rodeo courts and antique and classic vehicles.

Entry fees range from $55 for a nonprofit group to $190 for a commercial entry from a business that isn’t a member of the Keizer chamber. Political candidates can get in too – for $160.

Bragging rights are possible, with awards for the Mayor’s Trophy, Best Use of Theme, Commercial Division, Spirit Award, Most Unique, Most Humorous, Best Rodeo Court and Best Rodeo Queen.

The entry form is on the Keizer chamber’s website (keizerchamber.com) or at the office at 4118 River Road N.
