Suspect evades Keizer Police and Linn Co. authorities, remains at large

Asa Williams fled authorities Monday morning as members of the Keizer Police Department’s Community Response Unit and Linn County Narcotics Enforcement Team participated in an ongoing drug investigation.

Salem Police Department’s SWAT team assisted in the execution of a search warrant at 1387 Horizon Ridge Ct. NE in Keizer after the investigation led to probable cause and the warrants were issued.

Williams, 37-years old, fled from the residence prior to the execution of the warrant. According to KPD, he then entered a neighbor’s home unlawfully and stole a vehicle from the garage.

The vehicle crashed shortly after near the scene and Williams escaped on foot.

Williams is described as 5-feet-10-inches and approximately 175 pounds. Authorities urge you do not approach or confront Williams if seen, call 911 immediately.

Reports of multiple loud bangs around 4 a.m., speculated to be gunshots or explosions, were reported by neighbors on social media.

The search for Williams caused neighboring Gubser Elementary to delay the start of classes that morning.

Williams remains at large.
