McNary wrestling was up in Bend over the weekend for the North Bend Coast Classics, and returned with three first place finishes.
Max Blanco, back down at the 106 pounds where he finished third in state last year, took first place. Joining him at the top of the podium were Josh Friesen (170) and in the girls tournament Ali Martinez (190).
Blanco, now 9-1 on the season, won his first place match by pinfall over Chance Yancey of Crook County High School.
Friesen, 13-1, defeated Bend High School’s Finn Schuller by decision 8-1.
Martinez, 9-0, won by pinfall less than a minute in against Bend’s Sara Witts.
While Blanco and Friesen were the only boys to place for McNary, Martinez as joined by six other Lady Celtics in placing at Bend.
Kailyn Bolman-Lechter (100) placed fourth, at 105 Adrian Durkin finished third, defeating teammate Jessica Cottings who finished fourth. McKenna Unger (125) finished third with a pinfall victory over Nevaeha Florez of Coquille High School. Desiree Brown (190) and Annie Shore (235) each finished in fifth.
The girls finished in third place as a team out of 39 schools, behind North Medford High School and North Salem.
The boys were 14th of 39.
