Both boys and girls varsity squads came out on top when McNary cross country hosted Sprague at Keizer Rapids Park on Wednesday.
The Celtics boys varsity edged out the Olympians 19-40. Sophomore Brayden Kaehler finished first with a time of 18-minutes, 21.8 seconds. Sprague senior Tucker Piper was second at 18:42.9, while the five remaining McNary runners filled out the rest of the top-seven.
McNary runners took all five of the top spots in the girls varsity race. Freshman Jocelyn Schnurbusch finished in first for the second race in a row, with a time of 21:24.2. As a team, the McNary girls won 15-40.
The McNary JV squads didn’t fare quite as well. The boys narrowly lost 27-28, while the girls went down 27-32.
