Celts pick up league win in final home meet

 At a four-team dual, the McNary wrestling team went 1-2 in their final home meet of the season on Saturday, June 12. The Celtics lost to Century 40-36 and Crater 45-33, but defeated Bend 48-36.

McNary 126-pounder Jordan Orr went 3-0 on the day as he earned two pins and won one match via forfeit.

Luis Cortez (195) and Aldo Villalvazo (220) also were unbeaten on the day — Cortez won two of his matches due to forfeit while Villalvazo won one. Cortez won a 6-1 decision over Century’s Cayson Hammer and Villalvazo defeated Carter Paulsen from Century and Gabriel Williams from Century — both victories were via pin.

Max Blanco (113) picked up a pair of victories on the day, getting pins against Wren Rambo from Crater and Tristin Mancia from Century.

Damian Hernandez (120) and Joshua Friesch (160) also won two matches, each via pin.
