Chief stresses prevention
John Teague, who will retire as Keizer’s police chief Sept. 30, is known for focusing on crime prevention and strict adherence to procedure.
Teague started his police career along with eight others at the Keizer Police Department in 1989. He stayed with the department until April 2009, when he became the police chief of Dallas. He returned as the Keizer chief in April 2009 and has been here since.
Arrests made in Keizer Station sting
Eight people have been arrested in a joint retail theft operation in Keizer Station.
The Keizer Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and asset protection employees converged on the stores and the surrounding area to conduct surveillance. The nine-hour operation included the clearing of numerous outstanding arrest warrants and the recovery of nearly $1,700 in shoplifted merchandise.
