
McNary celebrates Camarena’s 350th soccer game

UPDATE: A 23-year-old Keiezer man who’s been fighting wildfires for three years had been in an immigration detention center in Washington state for a month. He was released on Tuesday, Sept. 23, after suing federal authorities for an illegal arrest and improper detention.

Moving day is coming soon for Bernina Stretch & Sew in Keizer. The business was founded in 1972.

The McNary High School Band will host its 'Band Day' fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 20. Band students will collect bottles, pop cans, and cash donations to raise $20,000.

The Keizer Police Department reported that Michael Sanchez died after being struck by a vehicle while walking on Northeast Trail Avenue on Wednesday evening.

The McNary High School girls soccer team went 3-9-2 last season. This year, the team hopes to rebound and develop its young talent.
The Centennial School was created in 1892, and is now being sold by the Salem-Keizer School District. The building hasn't been used for years, officials said.

Keizer will soon be home to the area's armed forces recruiting center. The move by the military branches comes in part because of the community's support of veterans, according to a military representative.

McNary clinched their first win in three years on Friday, Sept. 12 over Centennial High School. Players, fans, and coaches responded with ecstasy.
