For the first time in 21 years, Oregon’s Distinguished Young Women Kiele Jarnagin will be representing the city of Keizer at the Distinguished Young Women’s National program in June.

Rules and procedures took up most of the Monday, May 1, Keizer City Council meeting.
After opening with two proclamations by Mayor Cathy Clark the council heard a report from the Traffic- Bikeways-Pedestrian Safety Committee, including issues with traffic speeds on Chemawa Road east of the Verda Lane round-about. A top issue for the traffic committee is a signalized crosswalk on Lockhaven Drive N. at McNary High School.
Madison Lietz was selected as the 2024 Distinguished Young Woman of Keizer at the 50th Anniversary program on April 29.
“It’s really surreal,” Lietz said.
Seven McNary High School juniors will vie for the title of Keizer’s Distinguished Woman 2024. The progam will be on Saturday, April 29, in the Ken Collins Theater at the school, starting at 6 p.m. The doors will open at 5:3o p.m.; tickets are $10. Admission is free for students. [Read More…]
