Chemawa school honors veterans with pow wow
The sounds of ceremonial drumming and song filled Mocassin Square Garden, soon the bells strapped to the ankles and heels of dancers were helping keep the beat and adding to the auditory experience. Students, faculty, family and friends all joined in to honor Native American veterans Saturday, Nov. 9. Moccasin Square Garden is the nickname for the gymnasium at the school.
