Police are asking the public’s help to track down a Salem man suspected of assaulting an acquaintance on Tuesday night who then escaped while seeking medical supplies at the Walgreens in Keizer.
Daniel R. Myers, 62, of Salem, is wanted for attempted murder and other charges, according to the Salem Police Department. Police said he drives a silver Honda Civic with Oregon license plate 241NGP.
Salem police said Myers and a 31-year-old Salem woman were making food deliveries in West Salem when he drove to a secluded location. The two have made deliveries together in the past, according to Sgt. Jon Hardy, Salem police public information officer.
The police statement said the driver attempted to sexually assault the woman.

“When she resisted, he stabbed her multiple times. As the victim attempted to flee, he held her in the vehicle,” the statement said.
They ended up in Keizer at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, and the victim convinced her attacker to let her get first aid supplies at Walgreens. The store at 5000 River Rd. N. normally closes at 10 p.m.
The attacker drove off as store employees called for police and medics. Keizer Fire District medics were dispatched at 9:16 p.m.
The victim was taken to Salem Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Salem police are asking that anyone with information where Myers is to call the Salem Police Tips Line at (503) 588-8477 and refer to case SMP26012142. Myers has access to guns, police said.
