At Tuesday’s meeting of the Keizer Fire District Board, the board voted unanimously to appoint Division Chief Ryan Russell the interim Fire Chief.
The Personnel Committee recommended to the board that they search in-house for an interim chief, and recommended the consideration of Russell.
“It’s a good move into the future,” said board president Chet Patterson as he congratulated Russell at Tuesday’s meeting. “Just looking forward to working with you and getting to business again, thank you.”
This comes a week after former Chief Jeff Cowan’s retirement on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
