UPDATE: Sen. Merkley to host town hall in Salem

UPDATE: The town hall scheduled by Sen. Jeff Merkley in Salem has been postponed. Oregon Press Secretary Wade Muehlof said Merkley is delaying the town hall to travel to Portland after two people were shot by federal agents in the city yesterday.

Keizer residents will be able to voice concerns and opinions to Oregon’s U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley in Salem on Friday, Jan. 9.

The Democratic senator has scheduled a town hall for 3:30 p.m. Chemeketa Community College in Building 7.

The town hall is one of eight he has scheduled in western Oregon counties this month.

“I’m looking forward to again visiting wonderful communities all over our state. By talking directly to folks in each county my team and I can go to work for the interests and needs most important in each corner of our state,” Merkley said in the press release.
