A 20-year-old Keizer man was shot on Friday, Oct. 24, in a northeast Keizer neighborhood.

The victim was hospitalized but was expected to survive, according to Lt. Trevor Wenning of the Keizer Police Department.

The shooting was reported about 9:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Northeast McGee Court, an area of apartment and retirement complexes east of River Road.

The shooting occurred during a robbery inside the victim’s apartment, Wenning said.

“The suspects have not been identified and are still outstanding,” Wenning said in a statement on Saturday.

The Salem Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting to help investigators, Wenning said.
