Keizerites are already celebrating Halloween with costumes, parties, trunk or treats and more. Here’s a look at the events in town and nearby.
• McNary High School’s annual trunk or treat will offer goodies from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26. Check out the fabulous costumes in a safe family event.
•Radness Ensues presents its second annual Rad Monsters Mash, a trunk or treat and concert bash, on Sunday, Oct. 26, at the nonprofit’s Keizer locale, 3837 River Road N.
The fun starts with a free costume closet open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with items for all ages. From 1 to 3 p.m., there will be a trunk or treat, and from 3:30 to 7 p.m. a party with live music. There will be crafts, photo buttons and more, and everything is free to the community.
Organizers said last year’s inaugural event served more than 200 families, with 700 or more people attending.

•Keizer Funeral Chapel invites all to a Halloween event featuring a Family-friendly Fright Walk and a Ghoulishly Scary Haunted Walk on Oct. 31. Doors open at 2 p.m. There will be Halloween movies, a trunk or treat, games, face painting and more. Proceeds benefit the Marion County Victims Assistance Program.•Keizer Chamber of Commerce invites trick or treaters to come by the office, 4118 River Road N., from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31.
•Countryside Christian Church offers Trunk or Treat from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Halloween, Oct. 31.
•Keizer Christian Church’s Trunk or Treat is Halloween, Oct. 31. Organizers plan to have up to a dozen stations handing out candy from 5 to 6 p.m. Set-up begins at 4:30 p.m. People can contribute candy or make donations for the event by Oct. 26. • Chemeketa Community College offers a trunk or treat Friday, Oct. 24. Families can bring kids in costume to collect goodies from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Red Lot on the Salem campus. Admission is free.
•Powerland Heritage Park in Brooks offers “A Wizard’s Challenge” on weekends through October. The story-based event takes children across the 62-acre park.The quest has kids boarding a trolley on a quest to wake a very deep sleeper: a friendly dragon named Dream Bean. The journey ends at the trolley barn, where kids can explore the decorated space and learn about prop-making and set design from the creative scene behind the adventure.
The park also features a pumpkin patch, where kids can paint jack o’lanterns and do crafts. The event runs on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets cost $19 for adults and $15 for kids age 2-12, with children under 2 admitted free.
