Keizer police are investigating a shooting on North Chemawa Road just west of River Road that callers reported about 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6.

Lt. Trevor Wenning of the Keizer Police Department said Monday evening that police have located no victim and have no suspect but are processing evidence that there was a shooting.

To investigate, police have closed North Elizabeth Street for two blocks, between Chemawa Road and Churchdale Avenue. The eastbound lane of North Chemawa was closed from North Delight Street to River Road to allow police to recover evidence in the road.

Wenning said the shots were apparently fired in the parking lot of the Chemawa Deli & Market at 388 Chemawa Rd. N.

Police are asking anyone witnessing the event or having information ,klcall the non-emergency dispatch number at 503-390-2000.
