OBITUARY

Dallas Northcott January 16, 1940- April 18, 2021

Dallas Northcott died in Salem, Oregon of complications from congestive heart failure at the age of 81. 

Dallas was born in Belleville, Kansas to Gladys Buer and Walter Northcott. He is survived by his wife, Janice; children Tammy and Kevin; grandchildren Joshua, Alicia, Zachary, Sarah, Lisa, and Kristin; and great-grandchildren Felipe Christopher, Danica, Alayna, Serenity, Anthonie, Monique, Peregrin, and Sage. 

Dallas served a stint in the Army posted in Germany where he developed his love for traveling the world. After he left the military, he moved to Oregon to be nearer his sister and fell in love with the natural landscape and opportunities for adventure, and with Janice. He attended Oregon College of Education where he studied Criminal Justice and Psychology on a LEAP scholarship. He then spent his career working in corrections in Oregon, culminating in becoming the assistant superintendent at EOCI in Pendleton. He retired in 1995, and enjoyed time with his grandchildren, traveling, fishing, camping, boating, and woodworking. He was active in his church. He coached hundreds of hours of baseball to multiple generations and was a legacy in the Salem Pioneer Little League. He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed.
