Here’s the latest from Keizertimes

Good morning.

Every family and every home should be ready for disaster.

In Keizer, our history is filled with episodes of major flooding that inundated homes and brought the community to a standstill.

A local church is hosting sessions Saturday to help you get ready for an emergency.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host classes and booths on emergency preparation from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More details are in the story linked below.

And you’ll see McNary band students moving through the community Saturday as well. These young musicians will be working hard, raising money to cover costs. Anyone who has done fundraising know how hard the ask can be. So, be generous when you get asked to help.

Don’t forget an important event in Keizer on Monday. Cherriots is setting up shop at the transit center at Keizer Station to explain why it wants to tax local businesses. Here’s your chance to learn directly what is being taxed and why. More importantly, you get o ask any question you want about the tax, bus service and mass transit. Our story linked below gives you the background.
