City to take Keizer community’s pulse on park pavilion

Keizer city officials are asking residents whether a long-discussed pavilion belongs at Keizer Rapids Park – and if so, what it should look like and where it should go. A community listening session is set for 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, as leaders weigh a concept that’s drawn both enthusiasm for new events space and concern about preserving the park’s natural feel.

Keizer leaders eye property tax hike to fund police staffing

Keizer city officials are considering asking voters to approve a five-year property tax increase to keep the Keizer Police Department fully staffed. If the City Council agrees, the measure could go on the November 2026 ballot and would raise more than $4 million a year for police operations. For the average Keizer home, the city’s share of property taxes would increase by about $30 a month.
