After decades overseeing Keizer's growing infrastructure, Bill Lawyer is headed into retirement. But first, he'll be honored in Keizer's lighted holiday parade as grand marshal.

The remarks came during annual Oregon Leadership Summit aimed at hearing from business leaders in Oregon.

The annual pancake breakfast with Santa at the Keizer Fire Hall is set for Sunday, Dec. 14, and longtime volunteer Dan Woolley will be at the griddle.

Community members enjoyed light-up balloons, pictures with Santa and more at last week's tree lighting.

Organized by Keizer volunteers and supported by local businesses, the giving basket program is underway to provide a merry Christmas for children and families in need.
