To the Editor:
Every school in our district has children who need encouragement and one-on-one time with someone who will sit beside them and read. A few years ago, a teacher asked me to come into her classroom as a Reading Buddy. She needed help, and she knew it would take more than one educator to support all her students. Parents and community members were needed, and I had the time — and the motivation.
