Here’s the latest from Keizertimes

Good morning.

The Keizer City Council had one of the longest meetings in recent times last Monday, debating the fate of the Keizer Little League Park.

Watching the meeting was a bit like watching a movie – unexpected twists and turns and the outcome not certain until the very end.

There has been much confusion about the role of an outside contractor coming in to run the park. We reported in detail on the elements of the new operation.

The city council dives back into the subject in a meeting on Monday at 6 p.m. Expect discussions of fees for teams playing there, expected improvements at the field and more. Our news team will keep you informed as more details emerge.

Meantime, U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley is delaying his community town hall, scheduled for Friday afternoon at Chemeketa Community College. Merkley said in a statement Thursday night that he wanted to be in Portland as information developed on the shooting of two people by federal agents.
