Letter: Oregon Senate candidate understands family challenges

To the Editor:

Virginia Stapleton should be the next Oregon Senator for District 11, which includes Keizer, Woodburn and North Salem.

Virginia is a lifelong resident of our community.  As a Salem city councilor, she worked to increase safety for walkers and bikers in Salem, provide more affordable housing and improve mental health care.

As a mother of kids in public school, she understands the challenges facing our schools and will work to insure they are adequately funded.  Virginia sees how families are struggling to buy food and afford health care, while a very small proportion of our population grows richer and more powerful.

We can do better in Oregon and we need people like Virginia with the energy and commitment to take the steps that will improve life for all of us.  Join me in supporting Virginia Stapleton for Oregon’s Senate.

-Kathy Lincoln, Keizer
