Learn about water, explore a park and win a prize during the Great Raindrop Scavenger Hunt running through March at Keizer Rapids Park.
The self-guided digital hunt starts with the QR code at the kiosk near the dog park at the Keizer park. The hunt, during normal park hours, provides six clues and would take up to 20 minutes to follow.
“The scavenger hunt will lead you to a treasure; be sure to take only one prize per person in your party,” according to a press release from Stacey Perry, the Keizer city environmental education coordinator.
A similar hunt is being staged at Bush’s Pasture Park, starting at the Mission Street parking lot near the creek.
The hunt has been conducted annually since 2022.
“Clean water is essential to the health and wellbeing of people and wildlife. By connecting the community to information about where we get our drinking water and how pollutants enter our waterways, we hope to inspire local action to improve water quality,” Perry said.
She said people can help by keeping chemicals, yard debris, and trash out of storm drains and properly disposing of hazardous materials, including oil and pesticides.
