Police Scanner – February 22 – February 28
A McNary High School student was robbed of his shoes while walking along Northeast Trail Avenue, according to Keizer police.
Three robbers menaced the youth with a gun at about 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24. The victim wasn’t harmed and police suspect those who held him up were juveniles.
In other police activity:
•A man who thought he was getting a ride home was instead forced out of vehicle at Meadows Park, where he was beaten by two men and robbed on Thursday, Feb. 26.
Lt. Trevor Wenning of the Keizer Police Department reported the victim, whose identity is not being disclosed, had been at All Stars Sports Grill at 4900 River Road “when he accepted a ride home from two unidentified suspects.”
Instead of heading to his southeast Keizer home, they drove out River Road to the park.
Police were notified at 3:30 a.m. The victim passed out from his injuries and the attackers took his wallet and cell phone. He was treated at Salem Hospital for facial injuries. An investigation to identify the robbers is continuing, police said.
•A driver who was being stopped for a traffic violation on North Cummings Lane instead accelerated and eluded police at about 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24. The driver reached speeds of 50 mph in a zone near Cummings Elementary School where the speed limit is 25 mph.
Pursuing officers ended their pursuit because of safety concerns.
