Police Scanner – February 15 – February 22
The body of a Keizer man who was reported missing more than two years ago was found recently at an encampment in a wooded area by a dog walker, according to Keizer police.
The man was tentatively identified as Alex E. Luna, 30.
The cause of death hasn’t been established but police don’t believe Luna was the victim of a crime.
A relative reported Luna missing on Aug. 16, 2025.
According to the police report from then, Luna had been living in his car but the vehicle was towed from a Salem location. He also failed to appear for a scheduled appointment with a Marion County probation officer. Luna was being supervised following a 2021 conviction in Benton County.
Luna last listed an address on North Windsor Island Road.
Lt. Trevor Wenning of the Keizer Police Department reported that a man walking his dog on the evening of Sunday, Feb. 15, found the body in a wooded area on vacant land between River Road and Trail Avenue. The woods abut Harmony Crossing, an apartment complex on Trail Avenue.
Police found the body near a tent and camp.
“The property and human remains were carefully and respectfully recovered,” Wenning said.
He said police had received no reports of the encampment. He said the agency’s practice is to promptly dispatch people to contact those reported to be living in a transient camp.
•In other police activity, at about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, police responded to reports of people in one car shooting at those in another car in the 700 block of Northeast Bever Drive. Moments later, more gunfire was reported on Northeast Verda Lane as two cars crossed paths, police said.
Casings were found at both locations and Keizer police are asking anyone with information to call the agency at 503-390-3713.
•That same night, police encountered a vehicle stolen out of Silverton that was traveling on Northeast Cherry Avenue. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Steve E. Corbett, 46, of Salem, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of meth. Police later arrested Brad V. Husted, 35, listed as a transient, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle.
•Keizer police are seeking help identifying two men related to a theft and using counterfeit currency at a local business.

According to Wenning, two men stole vape pens while at One Stop Smoke Shop, 3926 River Rd. N., and then bought three pipes with a counterfeit $100 bill.
“One of the men has a distinctive hand tattoo,” Wenning reported.
Police released store images of the suspects, asking that anyone who can identify them call police at 503-390-3713.
