A 16-year-old Keizer boy was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 26, accused of sex crimes involving another high school student, Keizer police reported.
He was arrested for sex abuse, coercion, strangulation and harassment. The victim was assaulted on Thursday, Nov. 20, on a sidewalk in the area of North Chemawa Road and Chehalis Drive – about two blocks from McNary High School.
Because the case involves juveniles, police said they were releasing no other details.
• In other police action, officers responded to a call about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the Keizer Transit Center at Keizer Station because a woman refused to get off a Cherriots bus.
Kaila N. Franks-Mendoza, 34, listed as a transient, was arrested for interfering with public transportation and contempt of court.
“The latter charge was the result of a previous arrest and jail release agreement that stated she was not to have contact with the Cherriots transportation system,” according to Lt. Trevor Wenning of the Keizer Police Department.
• At about 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, a car crashed into a home in the 1900 block of Northeast Dearborn Avenue, near Noren Avenue. Residents were home at the time, police said. Jennifer Hassler, 44, of Keizer, was arrested for DUI and recklessly endangering another person, Keizer police reported.
