Cooking competitors serve up mouth-watering meats in Keizer

Last week, Willow Lake Golf Center & Driving Range hosted the first NW BBQ Bacon, Beer & Steak Festival. 

The event had 27 vendors, which event coordinator Mike White is hoping only scratches the surface of what is to come.

There were awards from first through ninth place in pork, brisket, ribs, and chicken. A grand champion, reserve grand champion and the Oregon steak champion were also crowned. Winners included

Grand Champion: Maddog’s BBQ.

Reserve Grand Champion: Smoaking Timbers.

Oregon Steak Championship- Verl Green.

1st Place Pork: Fowl Cookin’ at the lake house BBQ.

1st Place Brisket: Maddog’s BBQ.

1st Place Ribs: J & C BBQ.

1st Place Chicken: Fowl Cookin’.
