Keizer woman charged as accomplice in Cloverdale bank robbery

A 36-year-old man from the Salem-Keizer area and a 34-year-old woman from Keizer were arrested Friday, March 22, on charges related to an armed bank robbery in Cloverdale that ended with a crash into a police vehicle and exchange of gunfire.

On March 21, 2019 at 11:30 a.m., Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police responded to an armed robbery at the US Bank in Cloverdale.

When units arrived the suspects had fled the scene.

The suspects were located after a short pursuit on a forest service road off Sandlake Road where they struck an Oregon State Police vehicle. Two suspects were taken into custody after police and the suspects exchanged gunfire.

The suspects were transported to a local hospital for evaluation from the crash but there were no other injuries reported.

Matthew Buswell

Matthew G. Buswell was later arrested and lodged at the Tillamook County Jail on charges of robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of unlawful use of a firearm, theft, three counts of menacing and tampering with evidence. His bail was set at $88,000.

Cassandra Maughan was arrested and faces a charge of conspiracy to commit robbery. Her bail was set at $20,000.
