Salem-Keizer schools to cut 130 jobs, minimal layoffs

The impact on Keizer schools remains unclear as the Salem-Keizer School District plans to cut 130 jobs across its 65 schools. 

Job cuts will include both teachers and classified staff, such as instructional assistants. District leaders announced on April 2 that they intend to avoid laying off teachers by cutting positions that are already vacant and transferring teachers to other schools as needed.
