16 Keizer Chick-Fil-A employees earn scholarships

As part of a Chick-Fil-A scholarship program, several of the chain’s Keizer employees have been awarded money for college.

The chicken restaurant’s Remarkable Futures scholarship is available to its employees across the country.

In Keizer, five people received $2,500 scholarships, and 11 got $1,000 scholarships.

Clint Peebles, owner of the Keizer franchise, said in an email that each winner detailed academic achievements, career goals, community involvement and financial need in their applications.

Peebles wrote that the Keizer employees aspire to become teachers, electricians, paramedics, medical doctors, human resource professionals, engineers, accountants and mechanics.

Keizer winners include Eiley Abarca-Millán, Lucille Burroughs, Aliyah Case, Megan Curran, Monica Davalos, Derek Dela Cruz, Rodney Dloughy III, David Jones, Donald Lassahn, Bailey Oglesby, Joseph Oglesby, Ryker Pruett, Ava Sellers, Levi Sheard, Luke Stucker and Logan Warner.

“The list represents such a great group of local young people and I am so proud of each of them,” Peebles wrote.
