Love is in the air in Keizer, with two local events offering romantic themes in the month of Valentine’s Day.
The Keizer Art Association holds a new show – Love Letters – throughout the month of February at the association’s gallery in the Keizer Cultural Center. A reception with announcement of the show winners is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7.
The show will also feature a youth gallery, for artists aged 4-14.
The new theme asks artists to consider what represents a love letter to them, such as a treasured memory or gift from a loved one.
The theme was inspired in part by the production with the same name, “Love Letters,” coming to the Keizer Homegrown Theatre stage Feb. 13-15.
The play, written by A.R. Gurney, is directed by Keizer theater veteran Linda Baker.
There will be three chances to catch Keizer’s production, with a casting twist. Each show will feature a different duo: Jeff and Annie Minden in the 7 p.m. show Friday, Feb. 13; Nathan and Amy Bauer, the 7 p.m. show Saturday, Feb. 14; and Linda Cashin and Brian Moyer, the 2 p.m. matinee on Feb. 15.
General admission tickets cost $15. For information, visit keizerhomegrowntheatre.org online.
