Police Scanner – October 20 – October 26

A car crashed into a Keizer apartment just before midnight Thursday, Oct. 23, showering a sleeping man with glass, Keizer police reported.

The man, not identified by police, suffered cuts and was taken to the hospital by relatives for treatment.

The driver left the scene in the 3300 block of North River Road immediately, police said. Parts left behind indicate the vehicle may have been a Honda Accord from 2008 to 2012.

• In other police activity, Keizer police were contacted about 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, by workers at the Salem-Willamette Valley Airport who said someone was pointing a green laser at aircraft. The light was coming from the football field at McNary High School, they said. Police said they couldn’t locate the suspect.

•On Friday, Oct. 24, a man holding a pair of shears entered Keizer Florist at 631 Chemawa Rd. N.E. and asked an employee if they had ever been robbed. The man then took small items and left the store.

Police arrested Mark Simeone, 68, a resident at a Keizer group home, for robbery.
