The McNary High School football team claimed its first conference win of the season at McKay High School on Friday, Oct. 17.
The Celts, who now have a 2-5 overall record, dominated the Royal Scots 49-7.
Quarterback Aris Vassuer drew the first blood with a touchdown run in the first quarter, giving the Celts the early lead. Vassuer had two rushing touchdowns by the half, and over 100 passing yards.
Senior D’Sean Wynter also ran for two touchdowns and had over 50 rushing yards . Other scorers included senior Cole Pedersen, sophomore Andre Gallegos, and sophomore Maxxon Mendenhall.
McNary jogged out of the locker room leading 21-0. The Celts kept McKay scoreless until the fourth quarter, ending the game with a 6-touchdown lead.
McNary now has a 1-3 league record. The team plays at Wilsonville High School, who are 6-1 overall and 4-0 in league, in a league contest on Friday, Oct. 24.
